The Seven Sages of Rome

The exciting upcoming Einstein BUA/Oxford research project titled 'The Seven Sages of Rome Revisited: Striving for an Alternative Literary History', will include two Research Assistant roles:

Postdoctoral Research Assistant (3 years, full time, medieval/early modern Greek)
Predoctoral Research Assistant (3 years, 0.75, medieval/early modern German and/or Greek)

The roles will be jointly supervised by Professor Dr Jutta Eming, Freie Universität Berlin and Dr Ida Toth, University of Oxford. The post-doc will primarily investigate the textual transmission of the medieval and early modern Greek Book of Syntipas the Philosopher. The pre-doc will investigate any one of the project's key themes - wisdom, power, and gender - in either the German or the Greek Seven Sages/ Syntipas traditions. We are very excited to see the expansion of Seven Sages studies through projects like this!
